Canadian alt/post-rock band Basement Revolver fires off new single

Hamilton, Ontario-located indie alternative/post-rock band Basement Revolver shot into the public eye this past July with its 4-track self-titled debut EP.  The EP amassed over 800K plays on Spotify, charted at a high position on Hype Machine, and featured on many bloggers’ Best of 2016 music lists.

The song “Johnny” made quite an impact on listeners and the music press last year, and now Basement Revolver is following it up with “Johnny Pt. 2”, the new lead single from the act’s upcoming 2nd EP titled Agatha.  The EP is set to arrive on July 21st via Yellow K Records.

Chrisy Hurn (vocals), Nimal Agalawatte (bass, synths), and Brandon Monroe (drums) get introspective on the atmospheric “Johnny Pt. 2”, a hauntingly reflective that is touched by Hum’s sweetly wistful vocals.

Hurn explains that, “This new track continues the story.  “Johnny Pt. 2” was written almost directly after I broke up with “Johnny” – it was the heartbreak caused by an end, the wish that I could have been better, and the desire to continue a friendship.”

Agatha EP was recorded at TAPE Studios (Memoryhouse, Dirty Nil, Edgar Breau), engineered, mixed, and produced by Adam Bentley and Jordan Mitchell, and mastered by Bob Weston (Chicago Mastering Service).
